Evo CotY 2013 Get lost in Evos sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France – Evo claims it’s the “best road in the world” – and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year’s lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn’t CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?

– Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
– Audi R8 V10 Plus
– Mercedes-Benz SLS Black Series
– Porsche 911 GT3
– Alfa Romeo 4C
– Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
– Porsche Cayman S
– Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP

Screen Shot 2013 10 28 at 12.04.52 PM How not to unload the 1 of 1 Ferrari P4/5 Competizione from a trailer

Believe it or not, unloading a car from a transport vehicle is a delicate science. It’s alarmingly easy to damage a car in the tight, elevated confines of a dedicated car hauler, but as these gentlemen at the Monterey car week found out, even getting a car off a flatbed comes with its own unique set of challenges.

When the car you’re moving off said flatbed is the only James Glickenhaus, we imagine the stress level is even greater. Yes, this is an unloading gone wrong, although it could have always been worse. The movers have the right idea, working boards underneath the car, but simply didn’t account for the car moving them. The result is a racecar, resting ever so gracefully, on its carbon-fiber nose. Getting the car out of such a precarious position safely requires nearly as much skill as getting it off in the first place.

ferrari 308 magnum pi This is what its like to drive Magnum PIs Ferrari 308

In the pantheon of 80s pop culture, few cars have such provenance as the KITT guise) made us swoon back in the day, but there’s something about the bright red Italian that makes it stand out; perhaps it is the 308’s performance credibility, at least when compared to other memorable cars of its ilk.

Our fondness for Magnum PI’s Ferrari 308 is shared by Oscar Verdugo, who’s featured in the video you’ll see below. Brought to you by theAFICIONAUTO, this video highlights the bond between the men and women who own and love such so-called Comments

More than 600 458 Speciale.

There are only about 1,700 Ferrari owners in China, and they boast an average age of just 35 years. The young clientele in the Asian market often take advantage of Ferrari’s ‘Tailor Made’ bespoke program and they have a growing interest in racing. The automaker says that many will travel to the Mugello circuit in Italy to participate in the final event of the Asia Pacific series of the Ferrari Challenge in a couple weeks.

“I am pleased to be here to celebrate Ferrari’s thirty years in Hong Kong, along with so many owners who share our passion and the search for excellence, exclusivity and innovation,” said President Luca di Montezemolo. The video shows hundreds of Ferraris, in popular white, yellow and red, being arranged indoors to form the Bauhinia Blakeana, a five-pedal flower that is the characteristic symbol of Hong Kong. f17ccfe2aa3%20PM.png Drive goes sideways, shreds tires in a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Chris Harris wasn’t going to turn down the opportunity to hoon a 740-horsepower prancing horse around the scenic Anglesey Circuit in Wales.

In fact, not only was Ferrari nice enough to loan Harris the F12, but it threw in an extra four sets of tires, just for him to destroy while taking moving pictures. The resulting video is indeed one to watch, not just because of the ample amounts of slow-motion drifting, but because Harris, as always, does a great job of making the viewer feel like they’re actually along for the ride. Screen%20Shot%202013 09 26%20at%204.05.48%20PM Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911

According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the ‘Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver’s Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don’t actually compete against each other – the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in – but that’s not the point of this particular test.

The point of this test isn’t to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche’s flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette’s pushrod V8 or the Ferrari’s luscious V12, either, but the Comments

What could possibly be better than a Ferrari hypercar when it’s being ran hard. There’s no voiceover or music, just that righteous, hybridized V12.

We’re told that the first LaFerrari, without camo, is a production model, while the other car is said to be testing a different exhaust setup. It sounds slightly different, and according to the videographer, it was noticeably louder than the production car. Take a look Comments

2010 Ferrari California flooded in toronto Ferrari cuts Toronto lawyer a deal to replace his flooded California w/video

A National Post reports.

The car subsequently was totaled, and the insurance company covered the damage, so after completing his court assignment (and a column for the Financial Post that was due the same day), Levitt began to search for a replacement for his California – driving his 1994 Dodge Viper in the meantime. He decided on a 2014 California in the same metallic blue to replace his 2010 model. When he approached Ferrari to put in an order, the Italian marque was waiting for him, having heard of his mishap. The company offered him a “very generous” deal on a 2014 model; an undisclosed amount less than the after-options retail price of around $300,000.

The new Ferrari is expected to be delivered to Levitt in November, and we can only hope another flood doesn’t catch him off guard. We’re not so sure Ferrari would offer him another “very generous” deal. Feel free to watch the short Comments
